Caluculating the heat loss through building elements is an essential part of the day to day work of the construction industry. We developed the example below to provide an easy drag and drop method of creating assemblies of building materials and calculating their corresponding U-Values:

The Standard assessment procedure was introduced to produce a standard rating of thermal performance for domestic dwellings, it plays an essentail part in reducing the carbon dioxide produced by the nations housing stock. Producing the calculation is complex and requires the input of over 100 parameters relating to the building fabric. The example below is an  windows application we produced based on Microsofts new ribbon bar interface to simplify the process:

The examples use Microsofts new Ribbon Bar style interface to give users a familiar environment in which to work.

The examples are developed in .NET on an N Tier Basis. The backend Database is provided by SQL CE. Object Relational mapping is provided by NHibernate.
